Terms of use, in plain English

1. Free information, checked with care

Everything on GalleFace.org is free to read. We check facts against official and recent sources and show the date we last checked. But prices, opening times, timetables and rules in Sri Lanka can change quickly, sometimes without notice.

2. Check before you go

Before you travel, pay or make plans, please confirm the details with the official source (for example the park, the railway, the airport or the place you are visiting). We are not responsible for losses caused by information that has changed or that turns out to be wrong.

3. Your safety

Our safety tips are general advice. Always follow local rules, the advice of lifeguards, park staff and police, and your own government’s travel advice. In an emergency in Sri Lanka, call 119 (police) or 1990 (ambulance).

4. We sell nothing

We don’t sell tours, rides or tickets, and we don’t take bookings. If you book something with a company or a person, that is between you and them.

5. Links to other websites

We link to other websites to help you. We don’t control them and are not responsible for what they say or do.

6. Words and photos

You are welcome to share links to our pages. Please don’t copy our guides onto other websites. Many photos belong to other photographers and are shared under open licences: see the photo credits for each one and its licence.

7. Not the official website

GalleFace.org is independent. It is not the official website of Galle Face Green, the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, or any place it describes, such as the Galle Face Hotel, One Galle Face mall, Port City Colombo, the Lotus Tower or Gangaramaya Temple. Each of them has its own website.
